With You Every Step of the Building Process

One of our goals at Slate Ridge Homes is to provide the best home buying experience possible. From our very first meeting we’re committed to helping you every step of the way. We’ve included below a time frame about our building process so that you can learn what to expect as we work together to turn your new house into a home.

Visit our Model Home

We will help you choose the right floor plan, lot, and options to suit your family’s needs. You’ll be able to meet with us to review your home plan and finalize any changes that have been made to your plan. The plans that are finalized are the official documents that Slate Ridge Homes submits for building permits. The models, floor plans, specifications, and dimensions may have been revised, so know that we’ll build your home based on the plans that you approve.

Pre-Construction Meeting

This meeting will take place after the building permit has been received (which can take up to 3 weeks after the initial contract is accepted). From selecting paint colors and counter tops to pricing upgrades we will guide you as you customize your new home.

Pre-Drywall Meeting

We will contact you to schedule this appointment. Here, Gerry will take the time to show you how your home is built and can answer any questions you may have about the construction process of your new home. He will verify all of your options such as phone and cable placements and address any concerns that may come up.

Home Owner Orientation

After inspections have been completed, we will contact you to schedule this orientation. These meetings generally take place about a week before you close on your home. We will walk you through all of the finishes of your home. We will show you how to operate your new appliances and can answer any questions you have about your HVAC, water heater, etc. This meeting will also give you an opportunity to inspect the home so that any noted issues can be addressed by us.

Final Sign Off

If you find any issues during the Home Owner Orientation, we offer this additional meeting in order to address these. We will walk you through your home so that you can see the work that’s been completed and sign off on this work before closing on your new home.

30 day Warranty Inspection

After you’ve been in your new home for 30 days (and have had a chance to try out appliances, etc.) you should contact us with any questions or concerns. At that time we will walk through your home with you and address any items covered by your warranties that need repair.

11-Month Follow Up

Slate Ridge Homes takes pride in offering this additional inspection because we want to exceed your expectations for customer service, quality, and value. Because your 1 year warranty expires exactly 1 year after the closing date of your home, it’s important that you request this inspection through our website in advance. In other words, this inspection must be done before the 1 year warranty expires. Inspection appointments can take place anytime during our regular business hours (from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Mondays through Fridays).
